A warm friendly welcome greets you at Limekiln House Bed and Breakfast Accommodation - situated between Annagry and Kincasslagh at Carrickfin, in the heart of the Rosses on the Wild Atlantic Way - the home of Jim and Rosemary Boyd. When you have seen your bedroom and brought in your luggage a pot of tea or coffee with homemade cakes and biscuits awaits you in the sitting room in front of a cheery turf fire.
Afterwards you can if you have time explore the many sandy beaches and headland walks which surround this home on the West coast of Donegal, on the Wild Atlantic Way, before heading off to sample the local cuisine in either the local pubs or restaurants.
There is always time to talk to our guests either at night or in the morning over breakfast - discuss plans for a day ahead, etc. This is where many long standing friendships are struck and this is evident from the Visitors' Book where names crop up year after year as many guests return to this 'home from home'. One guest has written 'Home was never like this!' A German couple who visit annually and sometimes twice a year since 1999 welcomed in the Millennium in Limekiln House. After joining the family for a New Year's Eve dinner they all walked along the shore to welcome in the dawn of a new millennium.
This area is a walkers' and artists' paradise and and many groups have stayed at Limekiln House over the years. Limekiln House is very convenient for parents visiting their children while attending the Gaeltacht at either Rossan College, Annagry or Irish Colleges in Loughanure or Ranafast.
Rosemary's interest in crafts is evident in the decor of the house where she displays her oil-paintings, tapestry, cross stitch, embroidery and many other hand made items. She has represented Donegal Federation in the National Finals of Cake Decorating and Biscuit Making Competitions.
